There are location holes on both sides of the car that body men use to measure for straightness so a tape on the good side and compare to the bad side. This also helps even out hood-to-fender gaps. The hood-latch pin can be screwed up and down, and along with an adjustable bumper on either end of the core support, can set the front hood’s height.

WebJun 10, 2014 · You won't need that big of hammer to tap that back in place. Just have someone lean on a block while you tap where there are kinks or ripples that are along the lower radiator support. Then hammer and dolly out the kinks and maybe a wide wide chisel to get the bends back where needed. Just take your time and don't over hammer it.

WebOct 10, 2014 · there should be some space between the radiator and the rad support, place the hooked side of the wrench there and support the wrench with the subframe, and apply force to it, I can take a clearer pic to show it in a day or two if u're not sure how to do it, gonna jack the car up again anyways:thumbsup:

Then hook your come-along through the eye bolt and pull. You can try to straighten both pieces, using a port a power or a come along and getting it as close as possible. If you simply want a quick fix to sell the car, I'd try the means mentioned above. dave clark byrdWebA lot of supports can be replaced and are bolted onto the frame with a couple of bolts on each end. If it can't be replaced you're going to need to cut out the really bent area, and weld in a new section. After you cut out the bad section you should be able to straighten the two halves well enough to remount the rad without it looking too terrible. black and gold prom themeWebDec 18, 2008 · Put a 4x4 between the porta-power and the upper support, that should help. Otherwise, work from a corner. I could possibly offer other ideas if we had a pic. Another option would be to heat the support before attempting to straighten it. Then give it a few swings against the cable, while watching the support between each. It will easily move. You don't need a tree or come-along to bend it.
